About Boudoir Photography

The boudoir genre is characterized by elegant intimate portraits in a woman’s dressing area or bedroom. It’s definitely sexy, but it’s not trashy. Some women give the photos to her partner as a gift while others do it for the experience of feeling beautiful. It’s especially popular with brides to be wishing to give her new husband an extra special gift on her wedding day.

But these aren’t just any regular portraits. They’re all about making you feel sexy and confident. So all sessions include pampering prior to the shoot by a professional hair and makeup artist in our Boston boudoir studio. Your session will feel like a fashion shoot!

We Know it Takes Courage

Chances are that if you’re here you’re toying with the idea of doing a boudoir shoot.  We’ve worked with hundreds of women over the last ten years and haven’t met one yet who wasn’t initially nervous.  But no need to worry.  Our Boston studio is a safe space where you can just be you.  We’re body-positive and think everyone should do a boudoir session at least once in their life.  You’ll have a ton of fun at your shoot and will feel amazing afterwards!

Raves and Reviews

When I arrived on the day of the shoot, Erik (and Kerri Herlihy, who did my hair and makeup) kept me laughing and relaxed. He was never pushy about certain shots but did explain his reasoning for why he was looking for me to pose this way or that.then he showed me some raw images- WOW! He did the impossible with me, and in the process made me feel strong, pretty, and powerful.

Erik is a true artist with a very easy-going personality. At no point did I feel even remotely uncomfortable. He and his makeup artist/assistant were nothing but professional and fun! By the end of the shoot I felt like a million bucks, and they worked with me to make sure every photo was PERFECT.

My pictures still amaze me. Erik has an artistic eye that I think really captures the confidence and grace of the women being photographed. These are not just sexy pictures but I find really focus on the beauty and glamour of the individual. At least I felt that way about my photos. I could not be happier with the results and would highly recommend!

Erik, Photographer

The best part of being a beauty photographer is that I help women feel great about themselves. It’s amazing to me how empowered and confident clients are once they leave the studio. Any fears or concerns about themselves they had walking through the door completely vanish. It’s a transforming experience for them and for me.

I studied photography at the New England School of Photography in Boston where I concentrated in environmental portraiture. For fun my wife and I like exploring Boston’s restaurants or checking out an indie movie. We make our home in the Melrose area with our new baby girl Kiera
